Winter is coming to an end. Now is the time to meet friends and family in the pure Mauritian festive tradition. The time also for outings by the sea or even better, at sea.
If you choose to take a getaway along our north shore or a trip to the crystal-clear lagoon of Grand Bay, the Bounty is your gateway to an unforgettable day. This 39-metre long “pirate” ship, which can accommodate up to 30 people, is anchored in Grand Baie, its base of operations. Meeting is scheduled for 9:30 am on the pier of Sunset Boulevard.
During this magnificent sea trip along the north coast of Mauritius, you can admire the beauty of the landscapes while sailing on a crystal-clear sea. You will experience a magical moment as you watch the sun set in all its splendor from the Grand Bay lagoon. The boat will anchor in these crystal-clear waters while you soak or indulge in the joys of snorkeling in emerald water, to discover the colorful spectacle of the seabed.
The boat’s barbecue will be been crackling for an hour and in a musical and friendly atmosphere, you will enjoy a delicious grill of lobster, chicken and fish accompanied by a rice salad, potato salad and tropical fruits to close this traditional barbecue.
You will visit Bernaches Island, Flat Island, Gunner’s Coin and Gabriel Island.
Bernaches Island is very small (you can walk around it in 15 minutes), located just next to Ambre island. Its fine sandy beach is magnificent and the water is very warm (30°) and emerald in color. A real paradise, frequented only by a few fishermen who bring tourists and a few small boats from the local hotels.
A rocky islet located in the north of Mauritius, Coin de Mire has been watching over the tranquility of Mauritian waters for centuries. This nature reserve is also home to many rare and endemic species. Like a mountain that seems to rise from the ocean, Coin de Mire extends its long silhouette off the northern coast of Mauritius. Of the thirty or so islets around Mauritius, it is one of the most recognizable and highest, with a peak located 160 meters above the water.
Located in the north of Mauritius, 12 kilometers from Cap Malheureux, Flat island has an area of 253 hectares, surrounded by 4 to 5 kilometers of white beaches. With its coral soil, it is one of the largest islets in the North. To the southwest is a 102-metre high hill that houses the lighthouse of Flat island.
Located in the north of the island, next to Flat island, Gabriel Islet attracts lovers of true nature. Characterized by a pristine virgin beach, crystal clear water and a picturesque view, this remarkable and still very wild site is a real postcard.
